The Revelation 120 was sold by Western Auto and is basically a Marlin model 60. These rifles have a rather complicated action which is difficult at best when it has to be completely disassembled.
A couple of things I recently discovered (maybe I'm just a slow learner!) 1. The Brownells #15 Barrels Vise bushings are a nearly perfect fit for holding Colt SAA barrels for removal.
A customer brought into our shop a Kimber Pro BP Ten that would not fire. The BP Ten is a double-stack, polymer framed 1911-type that was never very common and has been out of production for 5 years or so now.
I ream barrels for screw in choke tubes using a lathe. I'm sure many other gunsmiths do as well. The reamer is held in the chuck and the chamber end of the barrel is aligned using a live center.
Had a Marlin 336 come in recently that had been used as a club like so many have.
I did it again - and I suspect that others have, too. I mixed small & large (.38, 9mm & .45) cases in the tumbler. Many smaller cases ended up stuck, with polishing media, in the larger cases.
While trying to get the right color on some case hardened parts from a Ruger Mark II .22lr pistol, Oxpho Blue was giving me fits.
We have had several Stevens Favorites in the shop lately. They sometimes have broken or damaged extractor/ejectors.
A common complaint about AR15/M16 grips is that they are too small. For those of us that are waiting for an order of larger grips, a temporary solution is to buy a roll of elastic electrical tape and a roll of non-skid tape from your hardware store.
We occasionally see AR-15 lowers with one of the trigger guard mounting 'ears' broken off. This usually occurs when a customer decides to change their trigger guard or assembly their own lower.
Some time ago while I was building a rimfire tactical gun, I wanted a reliable and simple way to make very small muzzle angle changes while in the shooting position and have those changes stay as I set them while using a tripod. Then it came to me.
With all the foreign ammo for the AR available there is some that have that lacquer coating. After some rapid firing if a fresh round is left in the chamber it can literally glue itself to the wall of the chamber.
